SCHOOL BOARD TRUSTEE
Peel District School Board - Ward 3 & 4

Meet Kashaf Paracha

Hi! My name is Kashaf, and I am running as your candidate for School Board Trustee in Peel District School Board Wards 3 & 4.Mississauga Ward 3 has been my home for 26 years. I attended local PDSB schools right here in our community, and today, my younger sibling walks those same hallways. My connection to our schools is not theoretical, it is part of my daily family life.Growing up here, I watched firsthand as my parents and neighbours navigated the public school system, often struggling to find strong support and clear answers. I know how overwhelming school advocacy can feel for families who simply want the best education for their children. So, who better to represent our community than someone who grew up in it? As your Trustee, I bring deep roots, lived experience, and a strong commitment to ensuring every student and parent in Wards 3 & 4 has a dedicated voice at the decision-making table.

My priorities

Priority 1: Bridging Language Barriers and Empowering Diverse CommunitiesMississauga’s Wards 3 and 4 are home to a vibrant, rapidly growing multicultural population. To ensure every family can participate fully in their child's education, I will advocate for modernizing how the Peel District School Board communicates with multilingual constituencies. My focus will be on expanding English as a Second Language (ESL) integration frameworks to help new immigrant students overcome language hurdles early, bridge achievement gaps, and ensure parents can comfortably navigate the school system.Priority 2: Reversing Special Education Cuts and Capping Class SizesEvery student deserves an environment tailored to their learning needs. I will push to reverse recent special education cuts, ensuring staffing levels directly align with the number of students requiring specialized support. Additionally, I will advocate for strict caps on classroom sizes so teachers can maintain manageable learning spaces and deliver the direct, individualized attention each student requires.Priority 3: Addressing Staffing Shortages to Ensure Safe, Focused ClassroomsLearning requires safety, stability, and focus. I will prioritize addressing critical shortages among Educational Assistants (EAs), Child and Youth Workers (CYWs), and mental health counselors across our schools. By securing adequate front-line support staff and establishing clear, consistent behavioral guidelines, we can protect classroom environments from constant disruption and ensure all children feel secure and supported.
